The Warehouse Associate A has a proven ability to be responsible for assisting the Supervisor in leading their assigned team in performing tasks to ensure accurate and timely transactions by following department processes and procedures to safely operate equipment while handling material (i.e., loading and unloading of material) within a warehouse or storage facility, ensuring compliance within the facility as it relates to quality, productivity, safety and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Process, package and ship orders accurately
  • Organize stocks and maintain inventory
  • Inspect products for defects and damages
  • Examine ingoing and outgoing shipments
  • Organize warehouse space
  • Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items appropriately
  • Check, verify and fill customer invoices
  • Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
  • Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jack, hoists, conveyors, or handling equipment to move material to and from delivery transportation vehicles and within warehouse or storage facility or work in process
  • Identify potential hazards in the workplace and acts to eliminate/minimize risks to include communicating to management any product availability issues
  • Promote safety awareness and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or unsafe equipment within the facility
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment while ensuring housekeeping duties are completed as required
  • Perform daily forklift inspections per required criteria
  • Maintain functional knowledge of BOLs and receiving and BOM processes
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that may include inclement weather, heat and humidity; Noise level may be loud at times
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience using material handling equipment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to support a positive team environment in a lead role
  • Proven ability to complete necessary training and follow safety policies, procedures and processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in material handling field
  • Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on instructions and safety
  • Proven excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work and sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to further develop computer skills such as email, reports and site-specific systems as necessary
  • Proven ability to hold themselves and assigned team accountable for their areas of responsibility and for their actions
  • Demonstrated a willingness and desire to perform responsibilities accurately and efficiently with a high level of customer service
  • Proven ability to work well with all levels of the organization in various areas of responsibility
  • Proven ability to successfully obtain a forklift certification (both written and practical tests)
  • Proven ability and willingness to cross train in other areas for back up coverage as needed
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Greater than 6 months of experience in a lead warehouse/material handling or production role in a warehouse or production environment
  • Proven to have extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in material handling field
