Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in managing industrial water and wastewater projects. In this dynamic role, you will lead the planning and design phases of critical water, water reuse, and wastewater projects and actively engage in business development efforts across various industrial sectors including High Tech, Data Centers, Petrochemical, Food & Beverage, and Manufacturing.

This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, and can be based in any of our Industrial offices across the U.S., including cities such as Houston, Irvine, Fairfax VA, Portland, New Orleans, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary Project Manager for water/wastewater projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff to enhance project design capabilities.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget development, and monitor adherence to ensure successful project completion.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control on key project deliverables and provide support on projects managed by colleagues.
  • Assist Client Service Leaders in technical marketing initiatives across the U.S.
  • Engage with professional societies relevant to the industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • PMP, CCM, or DBIA certification is required (or must be obtained within 12 months of hiring).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed, though at a frequency of 10% or less.
  • Equivalent additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in civil, environmental, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience managing industrial water/wastewater projects and multi-discipline teams.
  • Strong communication, networking, and team-building skills.
  • Direct experience working with clients and involvement in business development.

Pay Range:

Minimum: USD $120,973.00, Maximum: USD $211,723.00
