Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Radio Dispatcher to join our dynamic transportation team. Duties

• Coordinate dispatching activities for freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400.
• Utilize GPS and GIS technology to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency.
• Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls from drivers, clients, and internal teams with professionalism and courtesy.
• Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight details, and fleet management in logistics software like SyteLine and transportation management systems.
• Oversee shipping schedules, coordinate with 3PL providers, and ensure timely delivery by managing schedules through transportation planning tools.
• Monitor supply chain operations to identify delays or issues and communicate effectively with drivers and warehouse staff.
• Conduct analysis of transportation data to improve dispatching processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall logistics performance.
• Support fleet management activities by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to phone call etiquette standards while providing clear instructions and updates to drivers and team members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with dispatching in a logistics or transportation environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently across multiple systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, AS400, and transportation management platforms.
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to facilitate effective coordination among drivers, clients, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in using GPS, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software for route optimization.
• Familiarity with freight management processes including shipping & receiving procedures.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately under tight deadlines while managing multi-line phone systems.
• Analysis skills for evaluating transportation data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Knowledge of logistics concepts such as supply chain management, fleet management, 3PL services, and transportation planning principles.
• Technical aptitude with systems like Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine ERP software, AS400 platforms, and transportation management systems (TMS).
