The Eligibility Specialist plays a key role in growing specialty pharmacy services by identifying patients eligible for Shields Partner Pharmacy, completing benefits investigations, and ensuring accurate documentation—while maintaining strict confidentiality.
🚀 Key Responsibilities
- Perform benefits investigations and verify insurance coverage
- Utilize approved tools, EMR systems, and Pharmacy Dispensing Systems (PDS)
- Review patient medical records to confirm medication regimens
- Accurately document investigation outcomes
- Collaborate with team members to support high-quality patient care
- Identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements
- Participate in ongoing operational and performance improvement initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and organizational information
- Stay current through professional development and training
- Complete additional duties as assigned

🎓 Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0–1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
✅ Licensure & Certification
- State Pharmacy Technician License (required)
- PTCB certification (required)
- Additional state certification may be required based on placement
- Must obtain required licensure within agreed timeframe if not already held
