IAV Automotive Engineering Inc is seeking a highly motivated Engine Dyno Calibration Development Engineer to support base engine calibration work. The position will be onsite at the project site in Metro Detroit area.

This position will be responsible for developing, validating, optimizing, and releasing production engine calibrations while supporting continuous engine dynamometer operations. The successful candidate will serve as a technical focal point between calibration, controls, software, hardware, test automation, and laboratory operations teams.

Essential Responsibilities & Activities:

Review engine hardware configurations, control software functionality, and calibration strategies to define development activities and testing requirements.

Generate test plans for developing base engine calibration and validation activities for calibration development.

Oversee day to day engine dyno test cell activity with the dyno operation teams. Perform daily data integrity checks, evaluate the data and test results, and investigate any deviations that arise.

Develop steady-state and transient engine calibrations to achieve performance, fuel economy, combustion stability, drivability, and emissions objectives.

Support cold-start emissions development, catalyst light-off optimization, engine-out and tail pipe emissions reduction strategies.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams for development activities, identify issues and implement corrective actions.

Collect, analyze, process, and interpret test data using established engineering methodologies.

Maintain calibration datasets, document calibration changes, support calibration release processes, and ensure full traceability of development decisions.

Present technical findings, project status, risks, and recommendations to management, program teams, and engineering leadership.
