Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals under supervision.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining an organized workspace, including restocking supplies and cleaning food prep areas.
- Follow all food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Aid in meal preparation activities by assisting with ingredient prep, plating, and presentation when needed.
- Help manage waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Support catering events or special food service occasions by setting up stations or serving as directed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in the food industry, including restaurant or kitchen work, enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices is essential.
- Skills in knife handling, meal preparation, and general culinary techniques will support your success here.
- Experience with catering or serving during large events can be beneficial but is not required.
- A strong foundation in kitchen experience combined with a positive attitude will help you thrive as part of our team.
