X-Ray Technologist
Schedule
This is a 40-hour position, Monday through Friday, with potential flexibility for 4x10 or 4x9 schedules. The hours will be between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM EST, with no call and no holiday requirements.
Job Description
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of patients, ensuring high-quality imaging in a safe and effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Verify patients' identity and review physician orders prior to x-ray procedures.
- Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions they may have.
- Position patients properly, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
- Handle radiologic equipment safely and maintain optimal radiation dose levels for patients.
- Monitor patient status and interpret information to meet age-specific needs.
- Produce diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
- Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems for verification and record-keeping.
- Practice the Dual patient identifier procedure.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- New York State license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
- BLS certification.
- Experience using c-arm/o-arm in the past 8 months.
