Position: Busperson/Food Runner Date: February 2019
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager
Job Summary
The Busperson/Food Runner is responsible to set and clear restaurant tables; stocks all service stations; assist servers in the timely delivery of food orders to tables ensuring a high-level of guest satisfaction.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent with previous restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
- Must possess a Food Handlers Certification
Job Essentials
- Greeting and seating guests; assist Restaurant servers as need to provide an exceptional experience for guests.
- Deliver food from kitchen to the guest ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Serve guests with beverages, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
- Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all serviceware as prescribed.
- Folding napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
- Wipe down tables and chairs, move tables and chairs, and clean floors as necessary; Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
- Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations throughout the day with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments.
- Perform all assigned sidework to include replenishing condiments and restocking Respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Complete closing duties i.e. storing all reusable goods, breakdown buffet line and food stations, and cleaning all equipment.
- Practice proper food safety handling procedures
- Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely. Ensure follow up with guest are performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise in accordance to the “Make it Right” established guidelines.
- Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effectively.

- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday Evenings, weekends and holidays.
