As a Dental Hygienist focused on Community Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional oral care to patients of all ages.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting preliminary dental screenings and reviewing patient medical/dental histories.
- Performing intraoral and extraoral examinations, which involve periodontal charting, oral cancer screening, and assessing soft/hard tissues for symptoms of disease or pathology.
- Capturing and interpreting digital dental radiographs, identifying periodontal conditions, caries, calculus, bone levels, and other abnormalities for the dentist's evaluation.
- Educating patients, families, staff, and community partners on effective oral hygiene techniques using demonstrations and culturally sensitive materials.
- Planning, delivering, evaluating, and documenting preventive oral health programs aimed at improving overall population health, including services in clinics, schools, and community settings.
- Serving as the primary advisor for initiatives focused on dental health promotion and disease prevention across the service unit.
