Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish presentation.
• Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Use knife skills efficiently for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation tasks.
• Support food handling processes during meal preparation, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate food service during busy hours, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout shifts to uphold hygiene standards.

Experience

• Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling protocols.
• Restaurant or kitchen experience in the food industry provides a strong foundation for success in this role.
• Knowledge of culinary techniques including cooking methods, meal preparation, and catering is preferred.
• Strong knife skills and experience with food safety practices are essential for efficient operation.
• Experience in menu planning or food service operations will be advantageous in supporting kitchen functions.
