Role and Responsibilities:
As a Cashier Team Lead at Lowe’s, you will lead the Front End team, ensuring customer transactions are processed quickly and accurately while maintaining a positive shopping experience. You will set the standard for service excellence and uphold store safety and operational guidelines.
- Manage and assist customers at multiple assisted self-checkout stations.
- Greet customers proactively, suggest products and services, and ensure a seamless checkout process.
- Provide SMART customer service by adhering to Lowe’s service policies and procedures.
- Support customers in locating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise as needed.
- Answer questions from customers and staff, offering project assistance when necessary.
- Supervise, coach, and support Front End and Loader team members.
- Handle sales transactions, returns, refunds, and manage cash as required.
- Open additional registers to maintain coverage and reduce wait times.
- Inspect returned merchandise for damage and manage online and customer orders.
- Assist with price checks, product lookups, and inventory management.
- Monitor store entrances and exits, respond to alarms, and help prevent theft.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards in all work areas.
- Operate store equipment such as Zebra phones, registers, CCTV systems, and paint mixers.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of top stock safety measures, aisle blockers, and powered equipment with tether lines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Less than 1 year of experience using computers for data entry or information retrieval.
- Under 1 year of experience with retail technology such as smartphones or tablets.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working as a retail cashier.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in product identification and sales, including credit card transactions, installations, and protection plans.
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in various Lowe’s store departments.
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience, including coaching, delegating, evaluating, and training staff.
- Less than 1 year experience identifying shoplifting behaviors such as concealed items or altered price tags.
