Job Description Responsibilities:
Maintain schedule availability to accept opportunities that arise taking at least two assignments per week.
Follow all Parallel Work Rules, Policies and Procedures.
Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning that is orderly, positive, and age-appropriate; keep the physical space neat and organized.
Carry out prescribed lesson plans and guide learning toward curriculum goals. When plans are unavailable, engage students with appropriate material and supplement with suitable activities if needed.
Take attendance per school procedures. Set clear behavior expectations at the start of class and maintain discipline and classroom control that supports a safe, productive learning environment.
Never leave students unattended. Perform tasks as directed by administration, including appropriate duty of care and support for all students. This may include specialized assistance for pre-K students and students with disabilities or receiving special education services, following school protocols, IEPs, or 504 plans.
Perform assigned duties such as lunchroom, hall, or playground supervision. Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, evacuation routes, and procedures for referring disciplinary concerns.
Proctor classroom, study, and testing activities as directed. Mentor and engage students while maintaining a positive, respectful demeanor.
Build positive professional relationships with Parallel staff, administrators, teachers, students, and families. Adhere to all policies and demonstrate flexibility to meet school needs.
Assist administration in maintaining order when needed and perform other duties as directed.
