Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

Pay- $18.50-$22/hr

Position Summary

The BHRT Medical Assistant supports providers and patients throughout all phases of the Hormone Replacement Therapy program. This role requires strong clinical skills, exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, efficiency, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment.

The BHRT Medical Assistant is responsible for clinical assistance, procedural support, inventory management, documentation accuracy, patient communication, and financial processing support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Room patients and obtain accurate vitals
  • Update medical histories and medication lists
  • Prepare patients for consultations and pellet procedures
  • Assist with testosterone pellet insertions and minor in-office procedures
  • Maintain sterile technique and procedural setup
  • Document pellet lot numbers and expiration dates
  • Recognize and escalate post-procedure complications
  • Provide post-procedure education

Administrative Duties

  • Accurate EMR documentation
  • Schedule appointments
  • Manage inbound/outbound patient calls
  • Process payments accurately (POS system)
  • Verify patient demographic
  • Support lab coordination and documentation

Inventory & Compliance

  • Monitor pellet and supplement inventory
  • Track lot numbers and expiration dates
  • Maintain OSHA and HIPAA compliance
  • Ensure procedure room cleanliness and organization

Qualifications

  • Active Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
  • Experience in specialty clinic or procedural setting preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Occasional evenings and Saturdays required

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Assisting in minor surgical procedures
  • Fine motor skills for sterile technique

Experience:

  • Medical office: 1 year (Preferred)
