Job Details
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
- Prepares patients for exam using appropriate body mechanics.
- Identifies proper exams based on patient need and utilizes correct exam techniques.
- Produces quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment/instrumentation.
- Follows proper patient identification protocols.
- Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
- Maintains work area and stocks needed supplies.
- Transports patients as needed.
- Develops specific knowledge with regard to invasive, diagnostic and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.
- At the end of the procedure, may apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis.
- Understands and applies principles of x-ray generation and safety.
- Understands and demonstrates the correct operation of imaging equipment.
- Provides patient education, as needed and assures patient comfort.
- Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents.
Job Requirements
- One (1) year of vascular or interventional experience required.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- ARRT registration required.
- State of Utah Radiologic Technologist License required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers required.
- Vascular/Interventional radiography certification, or one year of Angio/Interventional experience required.
Schedule Information
- Shift: Day 10-hour shifts.
- Hours per day: 10.
- Hours per week: 40.
- On call required.
- Weekends on call only.
Additional Details
- Radiation badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment; facility can supply temporary badge if needed, but supplier provided is preferred.
- Preferred certifications include ACLS or PALS certification.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication and quick understanding during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity required to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, walking, assisting with patient transport, and standing for extended periods.
- Must navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords.
