If you are looking to bring your skills to a firm where the work is meaningful, the cases are active, and the attorneys you support are genuinely fighting for something — this is the role.
Shegerian & Associates is one of the most successful plaintiff employment trial firms in California. We take on employers who discriminate, harass, and retaliate against employees — and we win. Our attorneys are aggressive, our caseload is active, and our litigation team is in the fight every day. We are looking for a Legal Assistant who knows what that environment feels like and is ready to be in the middle of it.
This is not a document-management role at a firm that settles everything quietly. This is real litigation support at a firm that goes to trial.
What You'll Do:
You will be embedded in an active plaintiff employment litigation practice — supporting attorneys on real cases from pleading through trial preparation. Your day will include:
Prepare mediation memoranda that position our clients for the best possible outcome
Draft and prepare court forms — requests for dismissal, name amendments, case management statements, notices of settlement
Prepare notices and pleadings in proper format
Finalize and format discovery requests and responses, input service information, and obtain client verifications
Serve discovery and file and serve pleadings
Maintain and organize case files in Litify
Prepare and serve termination letters for dropped clients
Create Dropbox links for case file sharing
Format pleadings, input exhibits, and prepare materials for attorney review
Mail legal documents on behalf of attorneys
Coordinate directly with clients and opposing counsel on behalf of attorneys
Assist with initiating arbitration matters
This description captures the primary nature and level of work for this role. Additional duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may apply beyond those listed here.
