Customer Service Lead - Syracuse Cultural Workers
📍 Syracuse, NY | Full-time (35 hours) | $18-21/hour
Syracuse Cultural Workers has been creating quality, beautiful, agitational artwork, imagery and products to support feminist and progressive movements since 1982. We are part of a national community of activists, organizers and artists, and pride ourselves on a collaborative work environment and commitment to a “long-haul” vision of social change work. We are in a period of growth and we are currently transitioning to a worker cooperative.
We are looking for a dynamic, creative person to join our customer service team to help us meet the political moment, and prepare for the future.
About the Role
As Customer Service Lead, you’ll be the heart of our customer experience helping to set standards, solve problems, and make sure our interactions reflect our values.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate SCW’s customer service work
- Assist customers in the store, on the phone, and online
- Find creative solutions to customer concerns
- Manage wholesale customer relationships, including day-to-day contact and orders
- Partner with Operations Director to train and oversee part-time and seasonal staff (fall)
- Participate in our transition to a worker cooperative
- Share in broader office and online tasks.

- Good people skills – in-person, on the phone, and online
- Strong written communication skills
- Reliable, responsible, and accountable
- Flexible and able to multi-task effectively
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Computer proficiency (familiarity with shopify is a plus)
- Commitment to social justice movements
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
Details:
- 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm or 10am-5pm
- Located at 400 Lodi Street, Syracuse, NY
