Job Summary
Join our team in Memphis - West, TN, a vibrant city known for its rich musical heritage and cultural diversity. We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee equipment and personnel within an assigned building, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide general oversight and responsibility for equipment and personnel within the assigned building.
- Promote efficiency in building operations, tracking uptime, labor hours, repairs, and PM completion against benchmarks.
- Ensure machinery and mechanical equipment operate effectively by completing preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and specifications.
- Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices and using precision instruments.
- Remove defective parts using hand and power tools; inspect parts for changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using appropriate tools.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories; anticipate needs and verify receipt.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and analyzing information and trends.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking.
- Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
- Excellent punctuality and attendance.
- Meet or exceed plant uptime goal of 98%.
- Maintain building call response time of 2 minutes or less.
- Actively patrol assigned building to address equipment issues proactively.
- Report major issues to Chief Engineer and Production Manager and assist with resolution.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships between maintenance crew and production team.
- Complete tasks at 100% efficiency.
- Follow all company safety rules and policies.
- Work well with a diverse workforce and maintain a positive attitude.
- Be able to work past the schedule as issues may arise.
- Physically demanding position; regularly lift and move objects over 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift is necessary.
- Adapt to warm plant environments during certain times of the year.
