Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team supporting legal entity controllership, revenue analysis, and financial reporting activities. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and is passionate about identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial analysis, month-end close activities, billing initiatives, and supporting strategic accounting projects across the organization.

This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA and follows a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue & Contract Analysis: Analyze client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition and deferred revenue treatment while ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial results for multiple legal entities
  • General Accounting & Controllership: Support month-end and year-end close activities, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and general legal entity controllership responsibilities
  • Billing & Financial Projects: Serve as a key contributor to enterprise billing initiatives, including ongoing billing migration projects and process enhancements
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with business stakeholders to evaluate client contract structures and provide accounting guidance on financial impacts
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, leverage automation tools, and improve operational efficiency
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze large financial datasets using advanced Excel and reporting tools to support business decisions and financial reporting
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, accounting, and business teams to resolve accounting issues, improve processes, and support ongoing initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience within mid-to-large enterprise organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial analysis, and controllership activities
  • Experience with month-end close, variance analysis, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience identifying process improvement or automation opportunities within accounting or finance functions

Preferred Experience:

  • CPA certification
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Experience with billing processes or revenue recognition
  • Experience supporting internally developed software or technology organizations
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, Oracle General Ledger, Sage 50, or similar financial systems
  • Exposure to AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or similar technologies
