Job Summary
The Marketing Analyst at CandleScience plays a key role in transforming marketing, ecommerce, customer, and market data into actionable business insights that support growth and strategic decision-making. This position supports the Marketing, Ecommerce, Data, and Executive teams by delivering meaningful reporting, measuring marketing performance, and identifying opportunities to improve customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and overall business performance.
Reporting directly to the VP of Data, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining marketing analytics dashboards, analyzing campaign performance, and providing data-driven recommendations that influence business decisions. The position requires a balance of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration, contributing to CandleScience's overall success through accurate reporting and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains and enhances marketing analytics dashboards and reporting infrastructure across multiple channels using GA4, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence platforms.
Analyzes marketing performance across paid social, paid search, email, affiliate, organic search, and ecommerce channels to evaluate campaign effectiveness and return on investment.
Manage Google Tag Manager (GTM), including creation, testing, deployment, and governance of tags, triggers, and variables.
Develops reporting that tracks key performance indicators including ROAS, ROI, customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (LTV), conversion rate, retention, and customer engagement.
Conducts attribution modeling and customer journey analysis to identify the marketing touchpoints that drive customer acquisition and conversions.
Prioritizes analytics requests, communicates findings to stakeholders, and ensures reporting deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Configure event tracking for new website features, product launches, and marketing campaigns.
Maintain documentation of tracking specifications and implementation standards.
Conducts market, customer, campaign, and competitive analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and business risks.
Translates complex datasets into clear reports, dashboards, and presentations for business leaders and executive stakeholders.
Collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Ecommerce, Finance, Technology, Product Development, and Data teams to support strategic initiatives and business planning.
Monitors website performance, customer behavior, and landing page effectiveness to identify optimization opportunities.
Stays informed on industry trends, analytics best practices, and emerging technologies to improve reporting capabilities and business insights.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills / Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field and/or 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
Strong understanding of digital marketing analytics, ecommerce performance measurement, attribution modeling, and business intelligence.
Experience analyzing marketing performance, customer behavior, and business data to support strategic decision-making.
Expert knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager.
Proficiency with Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills; SQL experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, Magento, BigCommerce, or proprietary ecommerce platforms.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering accurate and actionable insights.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in ecommerce, retail, consumer products, or omnichannel marketing preferred.
Demonstrates both analytical rigor and business curiosity, combining quantitative analysis with an understanding of customer experience and marketing effectiveness.
Work Environment
This role is based in (location) and may be offered in a hybrid format, depending on business needs and budget considerations. The position requires significant time spent performing desk work, using a computer, and attending meetings. along with regular collaboration through meetings, video calls, and occasional in-person sessions. The role may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing or using a ladder as needed.
