Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dental Front Desk role based in Poway, CA. The team member will welcome patients, check them in and out, verify and update patient information, and manage appointment scheduling and confirmations. Daily responsibilities include answering and routing phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, explaining basic treatment information, and coordinating with clinical staff to support an efficient schedule. The role also involves processing payments, handling insurance information at the front desk level, organizing patient records, and maintaining a clean, professional reception area. The Dental Front Desk team member will provide a friendly, supportive first point of contact and help ensure a smooth experience for every patient visit.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Communication, to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and team members.
  • Front office and Receptionist Duties experience, such as greeting patients, scheduling, handling check-in/check-out, and managing waiting room flow.
  • Professional Phone Etiquette, including clear speaking, active listening, accurate message-taking, and routing calls appropriately.
  • Basic Computer Literacy, including familiarity with practice management or scheduling software, email, and electronic record systems.
  • Attention to detail and reliability in handling sensitive information, payments, and patient records with discretion and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Previous dental or medical front desk experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn dental terminology and insurance basics is essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in administration, healthcare, or related fields is a plus.
