Under the supervision of a provider (physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner), the medical assistant prepares patients for examinations and treatments by completing medical history and other required forms, collecting and recording patient vital signs, conducting any POCT (point of care testing), and performing clerical and reception duties.
