This position includes the administration and supervision of approved immunizations in accordance with state regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also provides limited emergency care as permitted by licensure or certification, training, and SOPs. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all relevant regulatory guidelines.
Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk).
Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure.
Consult with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders.
Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed.
Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed.
Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development.
Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program, such as Physician, Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse). Certified/licensed as an emergency medical technician (EMT Basic, EMT 2-intermediate or 3- advanced/paramedic, if allowable).
One (1)-year experience in the hospital, or field care or experience in plasma center preferred.
Current, valid state license/certification (Physician, RN, LPN, EMT, or equivalent as allowed by state).
State-issued authorization or license to perform moderate complexity testing.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motor tasks such as drawing blood.
Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable).
Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to work in environments as cold as -40°C and handle dry ice occasionally.
Ability to perform CPR and respond immediately to donor adverse reactions.
