Retail Sales Associate – Handmade Jewelry & Gifts

Join our boutique team and help customers discover unique handmade jewelry, fashion accessories, and gifts. Responsibilities include customer service, sales, merchandising, inventory support, gift wrapping, and assisting at local markets and events. We're looking for someone friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with people and supporting a local business.

Pay: $16-$18/hour

Schedule: Part-Time

Experience: Retail or customer service preferred but not required.

Position Summary

We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and reliable Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has an eye for style and presentation, and is passionate about providing excellent customer service. In addition to assisting customers in our retail shop, this position may also support sales at local markets, festivals, and special events.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales

• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Help customers select jewelry, accessories, and gift items that fit their needs and preferences.
• Share product knowledge, including information about handmade and custom jewelry pieces.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Build positive relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.

Store Operations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
• Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management.
• Create attractive product displays and merchandising arrangements.
• Assist with gift wrapping and packaging.
• Support daily opening and closing procedures.

Events & Markets

• Assist with setup and breakdown of booths at local markets, festivals, and community events.
• Represent the business professionally and enthusiastically at off-site events.
• Engage with event visitors and promote products.
• Organize and transport merchandise and display materials as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional special events.
• Interest in fashion, jewelry, handmade products, or boutique retail is preferred.
