campusSEA is a co-ed, residential summer culinary program for high school students who are truly passionate about cooking. We are located in Seattle, Washington, and we are looking for chefs who love both food and teaching.
Our ideal Chef Instructor is someone who is confident working with a large group of teenagers, comfortable leading a busy kitchen or classroom, and excited to be part of a collaborative team. This role is for someone who brings good energy, enjoys supporting students and fellow chefs, and knows how to keep things fun while staying organized.
We are looking for instructors who can hold students’ attention, delegate clearly, work one-on-one when needed, and teach students of all skill levels. Because this position requires a full three-week commitment, it is best suited for someone with summers off or someone looking for short-term summer work.

Approximately 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday

We believe safety comes first, fun comes second, and learning follows naturally when both are in place.
Typical Schedule (Monday–Friday)
8:00–9:00 AM: Arrive at the kitchen and set up for the day9:00 AM–12:00 PM: Instruction and preparation for lunch service12:00–1:00 PM: Lunch service for students and staff, cleanup, student break1:00–4:00 PM: Instruction and preparation for dinner service4:00–6:00 PM: Dinner service for students and staff, cleanup
Fridays are cooking competition days. On these days, chefs prepare lunch for students while campers work in groups to develop their menus. Dishes are judged by local judges in a fun, supportive competition. Parents are invited to attend via Zoom. These are often the most exciting days of camp!
Our Camps Are “Life Accelerated”
We are looking for someone who understands the sense of community that summer camp creates. This program can be a meaningful experience for students, giving them space to build confidence, friendships, and real-life skills.
For some students, this is their first sleepaway camp. For others, they are heading into their senior year and looking for guidance and independence. Chef Instructors play an important role in helping students feel supported, challenged, and proud of what they accomplish.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a culinary program or real-world experience in a restaurant or catering setting (with concentrations/specializing in pastry and baking)
- Experience teaching, training, or instructing in a professional setting
- Camp or youth program experience preferred, but not required
- Organized, adaptable, and comfortable leading a group
- Responsible, thoughtful, and enthusiastic
Compensation
Job Type: Contract Pay: $1,300 per week
