Role Description
This is a full-time, part time, or contract-based, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role based in Redwood City, CA. The CNC Machinist will set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce precision components for Skyfront’s drone platforms. Daily responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate tooling and materials, performing milling and other machining operations, and monitoring machine performance. The role involves inspecting parts for dimensional accuracy, documenting quality results, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues. The CNC Machinist will also maintain machinery, follow safety procedures, and support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Machine Operation and Machinery skills, including setting up, running, and maintaining CNC equipment.
- Candidates should possess solid Machining and Milling skills to produce precise components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including using measurement tools and inspection methods to verify part accuracy.
- Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T is beneficial.
- Familiarity with CNC programming software and basic troubleshooting of machine issues is preferred.
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist in aerospace, robotics, or related manufacturing fields is a plus.
- A relevant technical certification or vocational training in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline is desirable.
