A Better Optical Opportunity — Without the Corporate Retail Pressure
Are you an experienced optical sales associate, frame stylist, optical technician, or optician who enjoys helping patients find the right eyewear, but you are tired of late nights, Sunday work, rushed sales pressure, or carrying the workload for people who do not pull their weight?
West Tennessee Eye may be the right next step.
We are a private eyecare practice looking for a dependable, patient-focused Optical Sales Associate who understands that eyewear is both a medical need and a personal decision. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys consultative optical sales, wants to work in a more supportive healthcare environment, and takes pride in doing the job correctly.
This role does not require a Tennessee dispensing optician license or ABO certification. Optical experience is strongly preferred or proven sales experience. ABO certification, Tennessee licensure, or formal optical training is welcome, but not required.
You May Be a Strong Match If You
- Have optical sales, frame styling, optician, optical technician, or eyecare experience
- Want to use your skills in a private-practice environment instead of a corporate retail sales driven setting
- Are looking for no routine late-night retail hours
- Want a position with no Sunday work
- Value a workplace where patient care, quality, accuracy, and teamwork matter
- Enjoy helping patients select eyewear that fits their prescription, face, lifestyle, visual needs, and budget
- Can explain frame and lens options clearly, and confidently
- Are comfortable discussing insurance benefits, patient copays, and out-of-pocket costs
- Take accuracy seriously when measuring, ordering, adjusting, repairing, and dispensing eyewear
- Follow through on daily responsibilities without needing constant management oversight
- Communicate well with patients, doctors, managers, and coworkers
- Stay calm and professional with unhappy or frustrated patients
- Want to be part of a team where coworkers are expected to help one another and carry their share
- Appreciate doctors and managers who work with the team instead of managing from a distance
- Want the opportunity to keep growing your optical skills in a medical eyecare practice
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
