Job Title: CNC Machinist - 5 Axis Mills

Job Description

Join our dynamic team focused on producing precision parts for the defense sector. As a CNC Machinist, you will operate and set up 3-5 axis CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts according to customer specifications and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up 3-5 axis CNC mills/lathes to produce correct parts in a timely manner.
• Perform job setups on assigned machines, including tool changes.
• Conduct first piece, in-process, and last piece inspections using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Perform data collection and communication tasks using Job Boss and other applications.
• Carry out operator maintenance, diagnosing and correcting equipment or tool issues.

Essential Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in CNC Machining with 5 Axis Mills.
• Firm understanding of machining center theory, including x, y, and z axis, along with edge and center line pickup.
• Proficiency in using common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

Work in a job shop machining center tailored for the Aerospace industry, handling runs ranging from 20-70 pieces. Parts are complex and require close tolerances. Training occurs on the first shift for 30-90 days, followed by 10-12 hour shifts with flexible start times and shift premiums. The environment supports non-programming roles as programming is managed by Process Engineers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.
