Advanced EMT

Job Summary: Join our dedicated team at Acadian Ambulance Service as an Advanced EMT, where you will provide timely and efficient pre-hospital advanced and basic life support care and transportation for the sick and injured. You will adhere to local, state, national, and Acadian Ambulance Service standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough examinations of patients to identify signs and symptoms of illness or injury.
• Administer comprehensive basic and advanced life support care according to approved protocols.
• Safely transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
• Document patient conditions and treatments accurately in EMS run reports.
• Perform regular inventory checks and maintain all medical equipment in proper working order.
• Drive the ambulance safely and efficiently, following all company driving guidelines.
• Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as required.
• Precept new employees and EMT students if approved as a preceptor.
• Complete assigned ambulance duties, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or National/State certification as an Advanced EMT.
• Current CPR certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Strong communication skills; ability to write simple correspondence and present information clearly.

Physical Demands: Must be physically capable of performing strenuous tasks, including lifting and moving patients and heavy equipment in various environments. Ability to react quickly to emergency calls and work in challenging and potentially dangerous conditions is essential.
