We are seeking a Facilities Electrician to support the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the electrical systems that power our electrolyzer manufacturing and testing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining facility and equipment electrical infrastructure, ensuring safe and reliable operation across a wide range of industrial systems. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and facilities teams to support production goals while maintaining the highest standards of electrical safety and compliance. This position is based onsite in Devens, MA and reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Equipment Facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain a valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license and ensure compliance with NEC and local electrical codes
Champion electrical safety by implementing and adhering to NFPA 70E, OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards, and site-specific electrical safety programs
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues across facility and equipment systems ranging from 110V single-phase through 480V three-phase distribution
Read and interpret equipment schematics, design drawings, P IDs, electrical schematics, and one-line diagrams
Modify and maintain breaker panels, distribution boards, and associated overcurrent protection devices in compliance with applicable codes
Install and terminate conduit systems including EMT, rigid, and flexible conduit, as well as cable trays and raceways
Pull, route, and terminate power and control cables for equipment ranging from wall-powered devices to large industrial manufacturing systems
Tie in and commission new equipment to facility electrical infrastructure, ensuring proper phasing, load balancing, grounding, and operational readiness
Perform electrical testing and diagnostics, including insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, voltage and current verification, and power quality measurements
Ensure proper grounding and bonding of equipment in accordance with NEC Article 250 and manufacturer requirements
Verify equipment installations meet facility standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements
Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems, switchgear, panels, motors, drives, and associated controls
Support EHS electrical safety programs, including arc-flash assessments, PPE compliance, inspections, and corrective actions
Maintain accurate electrical documentation, including as-built drawings, panel schedules, and system modifications
Manage electrical work permits, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and energized work authorizations
Execute facility and equipment improvement projects under the direction of engineering teams
Respond to after-hours electrical emergencies as needed to support facility uptime and manufacturing operations
Qualifications
Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license required
Associate degree, technical certification, vocational training, high school diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience as an electrician or electrical technician in a manufacturing, industrial, or high-tech facility environment
Strong ability to read and interpret P IDs, electrical schematics, and one-line diagrams
Detailed knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, and arc-flash safety requirements
Working knowledge of building electrical systems, power distribution equipment, and facility infrastructure
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and equipment
Experience with energy management systems, smart metering, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and integration with facility utility systems such as HVAC
Experience implementing electrical safety programs, including lockout/tagout procedures
Experience maintaining electrical documentation, as-built drawings, and panel schedules
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced manufacturing settings
