Job Summary
Are you a friendly, motivated individual who enjoys helping people Family Dollar is seeking a Cashier to join our team and serve as the face of our store. In this role, you will provide a great shopping experience by greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean, welcoming front-end. Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Greet every customer with a positive attitude and assist them with questions regarding products, pricing, and current store specials. Point of Sale (POS) Operations: Accurately handle all sales transactions, including cash, credit, debit, and EBT payments. Process coupons and manage cash drawer security. Front-End Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area. Ensure impulse displays are stocked and presentable. Merchandise Support: Assist with recovery (straightening shelves) and restocking merchandise in the front-end zones during slower periods. Loss Prevention: Protect company assets by adhering to all cash handling policies and reporting any safety or security concerns to management. Safety & Compliance: Follow all company policies and safety guidelines to ensure a secure environment for both associates and shoppers.
Qualifications & Skills
Communication: Strong verbal skills to interact professionally with customers and team members. Basic Math: Proficiency in counting and basic arithmetic for accurate cash handling and change-making. Customer Focus: A passion for delivering excellent service and building positive relationships with the community. Reliability: Ability to follow instructions, work a flexible schedule, and arrive on time for assigned shifts. Physical Ability: Ability to stand for the duration of a shift and lift light-to-medium merchandise as needed.
