ESTIMATED PAY RANGE
Engineer I: $78,000–$88,000
Engineer II: $90,000–$105,000
Engineer III: $99,000-$114,000
Senior Engineer: $107,000-$124,000
Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations.
JOB SUMMARY
As a Electrical Controls Engineer in Antigo, WI you will:
Specify, design, program, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and control systems for industrial and technical applications
Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
Design and support power distribution systems, including switchgear, protection systems, and facility electrical upgrades
Program and integrate PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, servos, and related automation hardware
Lead electrical integration for new equipment, processes, and system upgrades
Evaluate existing equipment and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, safety, and diagnostics
Troubleshoot electrical and control issues using software tools, instrumentation, and diagnostic procedures
Collaborate with electricians, maintenance, production, engineering, and contractors to support equipment installation, repair, and continuous improvement
Manage project tasks including quotes, budgets, timelines, and purchase requisitions
Promote safety, proper documentation, and a positive working environment
Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
Contribute to projects that impact communities in Wausau, Merrill, Rhinelander, Shawano, Weston, Schofield, Mosinee, Tomahawk, Crandon, Birnamwood, Mattoon, Elcho, White Lake, and Neopit, and the greater Wausau, WI

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree (BSEE) in Electrical Engineering required
3+ years of Controls Engineering experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, code manuals, and technical documentation
Strong problem‑solving skills and troubleshooting capability
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robotics, servos, and industrial control systems
Proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools such as multimeters and related equipment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to perform metric conversions and basic mathematical calculations
Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs regularly; able to meet physical demands of industrial environments
Comfortable working near moving mechanical equipment, loud environments, and occasional outdoor conditions
Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives
