Ambulatory Technician/Admin Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equine Veterinary Technician specializing in Ambulatory Services and administratitive professionalism to join our team. This split role involves providing high-quality veterinary care to equine patients in the field, supporting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our animal clients, while also supporting the hospital's clerical needs when you are not traveling. The ideal candidate will possess strong animal handling skills, be detail oriented, equine veterinary experience, and a passion for equine health and welfare.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during field examinations, treatments, and procedures on horses in various settings.
• Perform animal restraint using appropriate techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
• Maintain detailed records of treatments, diagnostics, and patient histories in accordance with clinic protocols.
• Apply aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections.
• Recognize signs of illness or distress in equine patients and communicate findings effectively.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging such as X-ray procedures when required.
• Educate pet owners on animal care, health maintenance, and post-treatment instructions.
• Support laboratory work including sample collection and processing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, vehicles and treatment areas.
• Administrative clerical duties when not traveling with vets

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
