Join our dedicated team as a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician!
In this vital role, you will ensure the smooth operation of all production and facility equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing necessary repairs and maintenance on production and facility equipment to guarantee seamless operations during both day and night shifts.
- Reviewing equipment reports submitted by associates, logging repairs performed, and maintaining a detailed repair log in accordance with USF policy.
- Completing all required documentation related to equipment activities, including assembly and disassembly forms.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on equipment and recording these activities in the PM log with proper documentation.
- Adhering to safety guidelines mandated by USF and local regulations when working on equipment (including Lock Out/Tag Out protocols).
- Maintaining the battery-charging area and securing all equipment therein.
- Overseeing company tools and replacement parts, ensuring proper inventory management, safe operation, and secure storage of tools.
- If authorized, making local purchases for tools and equipment required for your job duties.
Collaboration and Supervision:
You will work closely with warehouse and production personnel, supervisory staff, operations support, and sanitation teams, as well as engage with external vendors.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of six months prior mechanical experience required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of equipment repair, ability to overhaul warehouse and production equipment, basic welding skills, and proficiency in reading and writing. Basic math skills are also necessary.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves:
- Standing and walking frequently; sitting occasionally.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Carrying: Ability to carry light and medium-weight items occasionally.
- Engaging in activities such as pushing/pulling equipment, climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, grasping, and twisting.
Compensation:
The expected base rate for this role is between $27.00 and $28.00 per hour, with additional overtime compensation and shift differentials.
