Advanced CNC Machinist Job Description
Position Overview:
Perform complex job set ups and operate five axis mill/turn machines to produce required aerospace tolerances and meet production requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and operate large mill/turn centers to machine metal parts to specifications and verifies conformance of parts to print dimensions.
- Has experience machining metals such as titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
- Must follow work instructions to meet aerospace specifications.
- Product size is 35 to 65 inches in diameter.
- May be required to assist process engineers in developing work procedures for new work.
- Aide in process improvements when needed by working with programming and engineering.
- Working with Mazak controls, utilizing dial indicators or probing systems to set up work homes on various axis.
- Able to work unproven programs in for first piece parts by utilizing single block, distance to go etc.
- Daily use of Hiemer heat shrink unit and Speroni tool measurement machine.
Requirements:
- Must be U.S Citizen
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret router requirements
- Must operate in a safe manner and wear all required PPE
- Must have basic mathematical and reading skills
- Must have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Knowledge of G&M codes is beneficial
- Knowledge of setup & running Mazak machinery is beneficial
- This is a FAA Safety Sensitive position
Pay:
- Base pay $27.17 - $35.00 /hr
- Elite pay 10% on top of base pay if criteria are met and maintained.
- Shift premiums for 2nd & 3rd are 20% on top of base pay. This does stack with elite pay if earned.
