Craft Lake City + SLUG Magazine + Angela H. Brown Reports To: Executive Assistant, Executive Director

Craft Lake City, SLUG Magazine and Angela H. Brown are seeking an Executive Assistant Intern to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting executive leadership while working across a nonprofit, publication and personal brand.

In this role, you’ll support day‑to‑day operations, communications and organizational systems that keep multiple platforms running smoothly. You’ll work closely with leadership on everything from board coordination to content management, gaining insight into how a nonprofit, media outlet and executive personal brand operate behind the scenes.

This is a one‑year, volunteer internship (15 hours per week) — ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in leadership support, operations and communications.

What You’ll Gain Real-world experience working directly with executive leadership across nonprofit, media and personal brand platforms

Hands‑on experience in operations, communications and project coordination

A behind‑the‑scenes look at how organizations run at the leadership and decision‑making level

Exposure to board management and nonprofit governance processes

Experience managing calendars, communications and high‑level priorities

Direct mentorship and feedback from experienced leaders

Networking opportunities with community leaders, creatives and professionals

A strong foundation in administrative, operational and communication skills

Opportunity to earn academic credit for this internship, subject to approval by your university (if applicable)

What You’ll Do Executive & Personal Brand Support Assist with content management and scheduling for executive platforms

Support LinkedIn management, including posts, messages and connection requests

Help maintain consistency and organization across personal brand communications

Board Support

Prepare and print agendas and materials

Assist in preparing presentation slides

Support internal team communications related to board activity

Team & Organizational Support Reset team charts weekly and update responsibilities monthly

Assist in coordinating team recognition and rewards

General / Administrative Support Assist with sponsorship tracking and coordination

Support bookkeeping and expense tracking

Help maintain and update calendars across platforms

Provide general administrative and operational support as needed

Occasional availability to support events, including (but not limited to) LetterWest, the DIY Festival, Holiday Market, SLUG Cat, Anniversary Party, and more.

Who You Are Interested in nonprofit work, media and executive operations

Highly organized, detail‑oriented and proactive

A strong communicator with professionalism and discretion

Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Adaptable, reliable and eager to learn

Positive and collaborative with a community‑minded approach

Preferred Experience Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)

Experience with social media platforms, especially LinkedIn

Interest in operations, communications or executive support

Basic experience with administrative systems or project coordination preferred

Commitment & Requirements Approximately 15 hours per week

One‑year commitment

Availability for occasional meetings and events

Reliable transportation preferred

Access to a laptop and internet

Occasional availability to support events, including (but not limited to) LetterWest, the DIY Festival, Holiday Market, SLUG Cat, Anniversary Party, and more.
