Join a Collaborative Pediatric Therapy Team Dedicated to Meaningful Communication

SCSS is a pediatric private practice providing clinic, home, virtual, and community-based therapy services to children with communication, developmental, and feeding challenges. We specialize in providing individualized, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that honors each child's unique strengths, communication style, and developmental journey.

We are seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist with interest and/or experience in Autism, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and neurodiversity-affirming practices to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work primarily with autistic children and other neurodivergent individuals across home, clinic, and ABA center settings while collaborating closely with Occupational Therapists, BCBAs, educators, and families.

Education & Licensure Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)
  • Licensed in North Carolina or eligible to obtain licensure
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based services

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat pediatric communication disorders, language delays, social communication differences, and AAC needs
  • Conduct comprehensive AAC assessments and support implementation of communication systems across environments
  • Provide neurodiversity-affirming therapy that respects individual communication styles, sensory needs, interests, and autonomy
  • Support autistic children and their families through individualized, strengths-based intervention
  • Collaborate with families, Occupational Therapists, BCBAs, teachers, and other professionals to promote functional communication and participation
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each child's goals and needs
  • Provide caregiver coaching and education to promote carryover and confidence across settings
  • Participate in team collaboration, case consultation, and ongoing clinical learning opportunities

Preferred Experience

  • Clinical experience working with autistic children and their families
  • Experience with AAC evaluations, implementation, and caregiver training
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity-affirming principles and strengths-based intervention approaches
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including OTs and BCBAs

Not all experience is required. Clinicians with a strong interest in AAC, autism, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy are encouraged to apply.
