About the job : The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care hospital of Las Vegas as well as assist the veterinarian with all duties.
How you'll make a difference
Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
Properly use and maintain medical equipment
Provide professional client communication
Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
Maintains client and patient confidentiality
Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
Meet or exceed VECC expectations for attendance and punctuality
Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
What you'll bring
Experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience,
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
Reliable, organized, and committed to provide high level care to our patients and clients
A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun!
Schedule :
Friday through Saturday at our North location, Mondays at our Main location, 4:00p - 2:00am at our North Vegas location
Set to open later this year. Anyone hired now will work at VE+CC until that time
Salary :
Base pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
Swing shift differential: +$2.00/hour
Overnight differential: +$4.00/hour
