Position: Activity Assistant (Certifiy Nursing Assistant)

Position Summary

The Activity Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role helps promote engagement, well‑being, and quality of life through structured and meaningful activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organizing daily, weekly, and special activities
• Lead group and individual activities under supervision of the activity director
• Encourage participation and engagement from residents
• Set up, clean, and maintain activity spaces and materials
• Support transportation or escort resident to and from activities when needed
• Observe and report changes in participant behavior, mood, or physical condition
• Document attendance and participation in activities as required
• Collaborate with Activity Director and care staff to tailor programs to participant needs
• Ensure activities are carried out safely and in accordance with facility policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have a Certified Nursing Assistant License
• Previous experience with recreation activity in a healthcare setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with diverse populations, including seniors or individuals with special needs
• Energetic, patient, and compassionate attitude
• Basic organizational and time‑management skills
