Who we are looking for
We're looking for an R D Machine and Controls Engineer who can do it all—design machinery, wire it up, and program it to work. This is a combination role for someone who moves fast, thinks creatively, and works across mechanical, electrical, and controls without getting stuck in silos.
You'll work on custom automation systems, R D prototypes, experimental equipment, and new manufacturing processes. If you like building complete solutions from concept to commission, this is for you.
What you will get to do!
Design and modify machine components, assemblies, and systems
Program and troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, robotics, motor controls, sensors, HMIs, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Rapidly prototype and test new machines and control strategies
Work across mechanical design, electrical integration, and controls programming
Iterate quickly based on real-world testing and feedback
Collaborate closely with machine designers, fabricators, and management across the team
Build and commission complete systems—from mechanical design through controls startup
Solve complex problems that span disciplines
What you bring to the team
You have 5-10 years of experience building machinery —whether that's design, fabrication, controls, or a mix
You're comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines
You have hands-on PLC programming experience—but you're not stuck in old-school methods
You understand robotics, motor controls, sensors, HMIs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and large industrial systems
You can design or modify machine components and then make them work with controls
You learn fast, adapt quickly, and don't need everything figured out before you start
You like building, testing, breaking, and improving
You're open to unconventional solutions and cross-disciplinary collaboration
Non-traditional backgrounds welcome if you have the right skills and mindset
You enjoy working in an R D environment where experimentation and iteration are part of the process
Preferred Qualifications
Industrial robotics experience
Robotics programming and integration
Experience with multiple PLC platforms
Vision systems integration and programming
Servo and motion control systems
Background in automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, or other relevant industries
