Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Machinist and Welder to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will use your expertise in machining and welding techniques to create and assemble metal components for various structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts, and pressure vessels. Your ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and specifications will be essentialĀ as you plan and perform welding operations. Salary Details: $28.64 / hr - $37.24 / hr

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines, fabricating both metallic and nonmetallic parts. Ensure accurate fitting and assembly of machined parts into complete projects.
  • Utilize your knowledge of machine shop theory, mathematics, and layout techniques. Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations.
  • Select and secure necessary fixtures, tools, and accessories on machines like mills, lathes, and grinders. Adjust controls to regulate machining factors and verify conformance of finished work pieces.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment for different metal parts, ensuring adherence to blueprints and specifications. Skillfully manage welding operations, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core techniques.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in your work area, adhering to safety guidelines and reporting any unsafe conditions promptly.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in machining and welding operations is required, along with a current AWS D1.1 Certified Welder certification.
  • Strong proficiency in machinist and welding practices, familiar with various metals and alloys. Able to select proper welding techniques based on material and structural requirements.
  • Experience operating and maintaining machine tools and welding devices in a theme park or similar environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately, plus perform mathematical calculations.
  • Commitment to safety, precision, and effective communication with team members in order to ensure high-quality results and efficient operations.
