Role Description The Car Hauler is responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading vehicles using a car carrier truck. This full-time, on-site role is based in Cleveland, OH and involves driving assigned routes, inspecting vehicles and equipment before and after trips, and following all safety and transportation regulations. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating schedules, completing delivery paperwork, communicating with dispatch, and providing courteous service when interacting with customers at pickup and drop-off locations. The Car Hauler will also maintain cleanliness of the truck and trailer, report any mechanical issues promptly, and participate in training to stay current with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Customer service skills to communicate clearly, handle questions, and represent Swish Transportation professionally.
- Automotive knowledge to understand vehicle types, basic inspections, and safe loading/unloading practices.
- Training experience or willingness to participate in ongoing safety and operational training programs.
- Sales and insurance awareness to discuss services, follow documentation requirements, and support accurate records when needed.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and experience driving heavy trucks or similar vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Physical ability to climb onto trailers, secure vehicles, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and adherence to assigned routes and schedules.
