Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Insurance Agent role located in Toledo, OH for a State Farm Agent. The Insurance Agent will provide personalized insurance and financial services guidance, including assessing customer needs, recommending appropriate products, and preparing quotes for auto, home, life, and other insurance lines. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with customers in person and by phone, responding to inquiries, processing policy changes, and supporting claims-related questions. The role also involves proactive outreach to prospective customers, participation in local marketing and community events, and maintaining accurate records in agency systems. The Insurance Agent will collaborate with the agency team to meet sales and service goals while delivering a consistent, customer-focused experience.
Qualifications
- Customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to listen, understand needs, and provide clear, empathetic guidance.
- Sales, prospecting, and negotiation skills to generate new business, present solutions, and close opportunities ethically and effectively.
- Communication skills, including strong verbal and written abilities, professional phone etiquette, and confidence in face-to-face interactions.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple customer requests, maintain accurate documentation, and meet deadlines.
- Basic financial and analytical skills to interpret coverage options, explain policy features, and help customers make informed decisions.
- Comfort with technology, including use of CRM or agency management systems, email, and standard office productivity tools.
- Ability to work on-site in Toledo, OH, collaborate with a team, and adapt to evolving customer and business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or relevant professional certifications in insurance or finance are beneficial.
- Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain applicable insurance licenses is essential.
