Our growing dermatology practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an opportunity to work in a physician-led, boutique dermatology practice defined by clinical excellence, an elevated patient experience, and attention to detail.

Our dermatology practice delivers personalized, evidence-based medical, cosmetic, and hair restoration care in a refined, patient-centered environment. About the Role

This role is integral to both clinical flow and patient experience. You will focus on delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring a smooth, efficient visit from start to finish.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote a professional and welcoming patient experience
  • Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories and chief complaints
  • Assist the physician with medical, cosmetic, laser, and hair-restoration dermatologic procedures (including performing phlebotomy for PRP)
  • Scribe clinical encounters in real-time within EMR with accuracy and efficiency
  • Order, collect, and perform laboratory tests as directed
  • Triage patient calls and communicate clinical concerns clearly to the physician
  • Provide and review clear pre- and post-procedure instructions with patients
  • Educate patients on skincare and treatment plans in alignment with physician recommendations
  • Assist with prior authorizations and medication refills
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms to ensure a clean, fully stocked environment
  • Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed
  • Support front desk duties when needed
  • Maintain strict HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
  • Anticipate workflow needs to maintain efficiency and minimize wait times

What We’re Looking For

Education:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; higher education is preferred
  • Pre-med or healthcare-focused academic track strongly preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6-12 months clinical experience (for pre-med students) OR 2+ years as a Medical Assistant in a professional medical setting
  • Dermatology specific experience is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems; ModMed EMA EMR experience preferred

Certification:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred; strong candidates without certification will be considered
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Phlebotomy certification required (experience with PRP preparation strongly preferred but not required)

Skills:
