Account Manager OE - SKF Automotive Business
Location: Plymouth, MI, hybrid
Represent SKF Automotive as a strategic business and technology partner, delivering solutions across the full product portfolio to automotive customers. Support SKF Automotive’s growth and retention strategy in collaboration with the Automotive value chain, while coordinating relationships and opportunities to deliver customer value and drive sustained profitable growth.
Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)
- Own and manage the Commercial Vehicle Trailer market for North America.
- Build, strengthen, and manage customer relationships to support long-term business growth.
- Manage complex internal and external stakeholder groups across the business.
- Lead, coordinate, and follow up on activities across business areas, functions, and countries.
- Engage, motivate, and coordinate members of the core and extended account teams.
- Organize benchmarking and knowledge-sharing activities to replicate best practices and successful outcomes.
- Represent SKF as a solutions provider by delivering value propositions across the full SKF product portfolio.
- Ensure potential savings and customer benefits from proposed solutions are clearly documented and communicated.
- Contribute to forecast development and business planning activities.
- Drive profitable growth, pricing strategies, and cost development in collaboration with key SKF stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations across NAM, manage local contracts and programs, and prepare commercial offers.
- Support order book quality and timely customer payments in partnership with customer service and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct all business activities in compliance with the SKF Code of Conduct, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality policies, the SKF Quality Management System, and SKF EHS Management Systems.
Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)
- 5–10 years of experience with a proven track record in account management and/or application engineering.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Proven ability to generate qualified, strategic business leads.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
- Strong business, commercial, and technical acumen, with the ability to adapt in a dynamic and innovative environment.
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Application knowledge preferred.
