Job Description And Duties

Please note that this is a Limited Term position identified by the period listed above and may be extended and/or may become permanent through HR and Budget approval at the end of the original Limited Term period.

Under the general direction of the Associate Deputy Director within the Grant and Contract Administration (GCA) Unit, the Analyst 1 supports the development and administration of grants and contracts, including fiscal management, regulatory compliance, report development, and grant application submission. The incumbent is responsible for grant data tracking and management within the designated CRM system. This position is a 12-month Limited Term, which may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Working Conditions

Hybrid: this position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento. As a result of the Governor’s executive order, GO-Biz employees will be required to come into the office in Sacramento at least four times a week, projected to be effective July 1, 2026.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) Requirements:

Interested individuals must submit a SOQ. The SOQ must be in 12-point font, single-spaced, and no more than 2 page(s) in length. The SOQ must address the following in numerical order; do not consolidate responses:

  • Describe your experience administering grants or contracts, including monitoring compliance, coordinating with program staff, and ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
  • Explain your experience with fiscal oversight, including budget tracking, fund reconciliation, or monitoring expenditures in a government or grant-funded environment.
  • Describe your experience maintaining records in a database, CRM, or grant management system, and provide an example of a process improvement you identified and implemented.
