KP Staffing Pasadena is now hiring welder/fabricators for a company that manufactures electrical apparatus in Houston, TX!

Job Summary

The welder/fabricator will interpret blueprints, measure and cut materials, operate fabrication equipment, and assemble components to fabricate structural frameworks, sheet metal parts, and enclosures. This role supports production by ensuring components meet specifications and comply with safety guidelines.

Pay

$18+ per hour, DOE

Shift

1st shift: 6 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Duties

  • Read, analyze, and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and CAD designs
  • Measure, mark, cut, trim, and shape raw materials like steel or aluminum to required dimensions
  • Operate fabrication equipment safely, including power saws, shears, brakes, presses, grinders, weld machines, and CNC equipment
  • Assemble cut pieces using mechanical fasteners or fit and MIG welding techniques
  • Inspect and measure finished components against product specifications and tolerances using measuring tools
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on fabrication equipment
  • Adhere to workplace safety guidelines, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment
  • Work around heavy machinery and moving equipment in varying temperatures, moderate to high noise levels, and occasional exposure to dust, fumes, or chemicals within regulated safety limits
  • Work a standard 40-hour work week with overtime as required by business needs

Qualifications

  • Specialized certifications, such as American Welding Society certification, are highly preferred
  • A vocational or trade school degree is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
  • Basic understanding of blueprint reading is a plus
  • Ability to stand for long periods, squat, bend, and lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent eyesight, fine motor skills, and color vision are often required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to troubleshoot fit issues or adjust designs for optimal functionality
