Elementary Teacher (Grades 3–5)Job Summary

Pleasant View School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Elementary Teacher for Grades 3–5 to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging, and academically challenging classroom environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction while fostering strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards and the school's curriculum.
  • Teach core academic subjects while promoting critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and progress reports.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
  • Integrate technology into daily instruction to enhance student engagement.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve student achievement.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (required).
  • Valid teaching license or eligibility for certification is preferred.
  • Previous elementary teaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to maintaining a nurturing, student-centered learning environment.
  • Experience with educational technology and digital learning platforms is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching students in Grades 3–5.
  • Knowledge of Tennessee academic standards.
  • Strong instructional planning and assessment skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented school environment.
