Position: Respiratory Therapist - DAYS - 1st shift
Respiratory Therapist Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to children in various settings. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and have a passion for pediatric care, this is your chance to make a real difference one breath at a time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in various settings.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and management.
- Apply scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and theory to practical clinical problems.
- Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, consultative, and supportive services for neonatal through adult patients and their families.
- Actively participate in resuscitative and emergent situations.
- Function within professional and hospital standards.
Qualifications
- Required:
a valid Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Required:
Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Required:
Current CPR certification – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
- Required:
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Required:
Completion of a respiratory therapy program.
- No pediatric work experience required; at least 2 years of RCP experience strongly preferred for the Day shift position.
- Desire to serve children and families is essential.
Certifications/Licenses
- BLS‑Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
- License Respiratory Care Practitioner (28) – State of Wisconsin
- PALS‑Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
- RRT‑Registered Respiratory Therapist – The National Board for Respiratory Care
