Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and functional testing on a variety of medical equipment, including patient monitors, diagnostic imaging devices, life support systems, and laboratory instruments. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes of failures. Repair and replace faulty components and subsystems in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols. Calibrate medical devices to ensure accuracy and adherence to performance specifications. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and calibration activities. Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards (e.g., TJC, FDA), and facility policies. Respond promptly to emergency service requests for critical medical equipment. Collaborate with clinical staff and department managers to address equipment issues and needs. Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for medical equipment maintenance. Stay current with advancements in medical technology and maintenance best practices. Requirements Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field; a Bachelor's degree is a plus. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Proven knowledge of electronic circuits, mechanical systems, and computer hardware/software used in medical devices. Familiarity with a broad range of medical equipment types is essential. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety. Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clinical staff and vendors. Must possess a valid driver's license for potential on-site service at different facilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is highly desirable.
