Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN to provide high-quality therapeutic care and rehabilitation services to patients with physical, developmental, cognitive, and emotional challenges. The Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and achieve greater independence. The Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN assists in implementing treatment plans, conducting therapeutic activities, monitoring patient progress, and documenting outcomes.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN plays a critical role in supporting rehabilitation programs by helping patients regain functional abilities and improve their overall quality of life. The Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN collaborates with Occupational Therapists, healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers to ensure treatment goals are achieved effectively. This Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN position requires strong communication skills, clinical knowledge, patience, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN provides therapy services on an as-needed basis, offering scheduling flexibility while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence. The Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN must be adaptable, organized, and capable of working with diverse patient populations across various healthcare settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and exercises designed to improve patient function and independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist patients with activities that enhance daily living skills and mobility.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapy techniques and home exercise programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and treatment records.
  • Prepare therapy equipment and treatment areas for patient sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and therapy protocols.
  • Support patients in achieving rehabilitation and recovery goals.
  • Assist with adaptive equipment training and functional skill development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in patient assessments as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapeutic environment.
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and continuing education activities.
  • Provide compassionate and professional patient care at all times.

Education

  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Required

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Occupational Therapy as an Assistant Preferred

Certifications:

  • Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross
  • COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
